If you read the random words
Written on this page
You will learn all that I’ve learned
Watching from this cage

You’ll learn about the boy who strived
To touch the nearest star
And how, so close that star may be…
Will always be too far

Poor boy, the one who failed to grasp
That twinkle in the sky
But still just keeps on reaching
With not a reason why

Next you’ll hear of a little girl
Who’s always been alone
Mommy’s gone with another man
And Daddy’s far from home

Tears roll down her rosy cheeks
Her tiny heart is torn
There’s no one left, still as she wept
A hatred slowly forms

At last you’ll learn of a sick old man
Whose dying in his bed
Thoughts of regret are all he gets,
They’re stuck inside his head

His son would say he loved him so,
He never saw the truth.
Now that he’s old, he still hasn’t told
His son he loves him too

So how could life be so unkind
To those so unprepared?
Truth be told, the world is cold
And lucky few are spared.

Yea, I got this from stories I've been told by my grandparents. Thing my family's been through.
